Do you have difficulty being understood? Do colleagues keep asking you to repeat yourself? You are not alone!! Help is at hand! Some overseas born people this to be such a problem that they do not talk to others so much because they worry about being understood and or understanding others. Don't let this be you! With Accent Reduction Fundamentals you will learn techniques to ensure you are clearer, more easily understood and more confident in speaking English than ever! Join us for this enjoyable group training.

Course Content

You will learn:

To communicate more confidently
Specific techniques to increase clarity
- slowing your speech speed
- voice projection training
- intonation i.e. emphasis & stress training

You will practise:

Speaking out loud to our group, slowing down
Using good voice projection techniques
Using vocal variety and stressing key words
Using clarification techniques
Receiving feedback from others about your clarity

Pronunciation of individual sounds is NOT the focus of this training. This training is available one on one at AccentWest.

Outcomes

Participants will learn the fundamentals of slowing their speech down to enhance clarity, voice projection and intonation training focused on emphasising key words. Participants will have significant opportunity to practice in front of the group. This will enhance participants' confidence and the clarity of their speech.

Evaluation forms will be distributed to participants to complete, to demonstrate they found the training to be effective.

Participants will receive:

a copy of course notes
a certificate of course completion for your resume

Costs: $200 + GST Includes morning tea & resources

Cancellations

Full cancellations & refunds will be given up to two weeks before the training commences, up until two days before the training a half refund will be provided, non attendance on the day incurs the full cost. If another training program is scheduled you can transfer to that. Another participant can attend in your place with notice.
